Thank You Tea at Calen, July 23rd

Ladies, our Morning Tea will be held at the Calen Pub on Wednesday 23rd July. It is a BIG Thank You for all your hard work towards making our Quilt and Craft Show so successful. Whether you worked in the kitchen, hung the display, moved furniture, greeted visitors, sat and sewed, sold raffle tickets, made things for sale or display, acted as stewards, demonstrated .....  each and every one of you in some way contributed. It was a marvellous group effort.
THANKS!

Start time is 9-30 to 10am. You morning tea is paid for but you may stay on at your own expense for lunch, as some ladies will be doing.

Lifts have been arranged between you, but if anyone has been left out or wants to be included just ring Robyn on 4954 7672

There will be NO regular Quilt Group at Bucasia that day.

Bring something to stitch, or sit and chat.

Thanks to Elaine for her lovely rose applique.

Helpful Gadjets Part 2

This small creature was spotted at the Saturday Sew, and it seemed that Helen (van den Broek) was about to squash an escaped soft toy, but NO! Helen has cleverly adapted it to replace her broken machine foot control.
And it works ladies!

That was the Quilt Show, that was!

Months of planning and preparation and planning came to an end on Saturday when we dismantled our display, closed up the kitchen, despatched the various traders and went home.
It had been a fantastic two days.
417 visitors and through the sales of raffle tickets, refreshments and items made by the group to sell we raised over $8,000 which will be shared amongst three nominated charities, the Mackay Hospital Trust Renal Unit, Riding for the Disabled and Street Chaplaincy.

Our beautiful display went up on Thursday afternoon with a band of eager hangers, fetchers, carriers, mountain goats and assorted others. While Di got on with allocating the trader areas, directing traffic with her organiser hat on and Iris and Elaine readied the kitchen for the onslaught. On the stage Marlena and Elizabeth were creating Christmas.
