Months of planning and preparation and planning came to an end on Saturday when we dismantled our display, closed up the kitchen, despatched the various traders and went home.
It had been a fantastic two days.
417 visitors and through the sales of raffle tickets, refreshments and items made by the group to sell we raised over $8,000 which will be shared amongst three nominated charities, the Mackay Hospital Trust Renal Unit, Riding for the Disabled and Street Chaplaincy.
Our beautiful display went up on Thursday afternoon with a band of eager hangers, fetchers, carriers, mountain goats and assorted others. While Di got on with allocating the trader areas, directing traffic with her organiser hat on and Iris and Elaine readied the kitchen for the onslaught. On the stage Marlena and Elizabeth were creating Christmas.
