Wednesday 14th May

We had a very busy morning with the committee meeting first thing and an in-house workshop conducted by Joan Flack.
The committee is sorting out future events such as the Biggest Morning Tea on 21st, the display to go to the Greenmount Heritage Day that weekend on May 25th, The Mackay Show and our own forthcoming Exhibition and Craft Show in July. Everything seems to be happening in such a rush!

Here is Joan conducting her workshop on Borders, Mitres and Corners. It's good to see these aspects of quilt construction demonstrated to us and hopefully we will take home some of the lessons. All of these things can drastically affect the way our finished items look when they are not completed well, from distorting the shape, altering the blocks and the way the quilt sits.
Thanks to Joan Flack for doing this for us.

Our members do much more than make quilts. Here are two examples below; Anne Weller has made some tiny baby hats for premature babies, and Nancy Foyle is working on her crocheted blanket.

We know that's you hiding in there Nancy!

Below is a quilt Robyn Nicoll has finally finished after 13 years.
Well done Robyn. Now that's a challenge for all of us to get those UFO's out and finish them.

Finally this lovely Sun-bonnet Sue quilt has been made by Linda Lamont who you can see peering over the top.
