Look what can be produced from your stash, Christine put together this wonderful gift for a friend turning 80 using fabrics from her stash. Quilted by Diane Hope who continued the theme of hearts and daisies in the free motion stitching.
Time for a bit of fun, this months block of the month is a take on crazy patch, join left over pieces together using straight of grain place top piece down on an angle to the foundation piece to create lots of shapes. trimming seams to 1/4' as you go.  Trim piece to form 6 1/2 inch block. Theme colour is solid red.

Diane Hope hand coloured all the fabric used in this quilt. Diane wanted this quilt to be soft and snuggly to keep a friend warm during her dialysis, so used polar fleece for the backing. Di chose an open stipple pattern which worked beautifully on her long arm quilting machine.
The recent 4 day retreat at Broken River Eungella produced some amazing works, Joan Flack worked outside of her comfort colour pallet to show case these beautiful fabrics.

Challenge of the weekend was these little snap bags that had to be completed in 30mins. Kit supplied with felt flowers. (hand made by Brenda)

Barbro Melkersson completed this quilt using up lots of her left over pieces in her stash, very creative and a great idea.

Lesley presented this month's interesting BOM called Rising Sun. A simple version of the old classic made by slicing squares on the 60 degree ruler line.  Deane's needle turn class will come in handy for appliqueing the centre of this block.  Looking forward to seeing the results. Those splashes of yellow should make it bright.

Diana finished her Jane Grove reverse applique workshop wall hanging.

Helen Allwood put her scraps to good use to make a beautiful wedding present for a niece. Quilted by Diane Hope.

Heather's talent for stitchery and intricate piecing has come together beautifully in this lovely quilt. It is the Gingham Girls pattern.

Table runner completed by Nancy. Black, red and white always looks spectacular.
Kathy finished her Ginko Leaves which had been on the go for some time.

A Swirls quilt by Beth made from April's BOM pattern.

Deane made a cushion cover from her foundation paper pieced block after completing the Patchwork Paradise workshop.

Christmas has come early or maybe late, after being in the pipe line for some time. Well done Kathy.

Karen used the Swirls BOM pattern to complete this cot quilt from a bright panel.
These beautiful quilts were part of last week's show and tell. Well done ladies.

Barbara has done another cuddle quilt with minkee backing and satin binding. So soft and feely!

A bright transport quilt from Linda.

Pat made the quilt on the right - and had so many leftover blocks she had to make another little quilt as well.

Our mini workshop of the month was Needleturn Applique.
Deane explained and demonstrated the techniques, tools and best tips of doing needleturn.

Members brought along a small piece to practice on. Joan is trying the finer points of the blind stitch.

Below are some samples of Deane's beautiful needleturn work.
