Wednesday 22 July 2015

Wednesdays seem to come around so quickly. You need to make sure you don't lose track of the date or you will miss out on too many interesting things at patchwork.

Next week 29th July we have an In-House Workshop conducted by Joan to make a Mystic Mountain table runner as shown in the 8 July Blog. The workshop will be over two Wednesdays. If you want to join in, bring your machine, mat, cutter and ruler and 4 coordinating fat quarters, two light and two dark. They should be trimmed to all measure 21 1/2" X 19 1/2". If you wish to do the "Flip and Sew" shortcut, you will also need a piece of wadding and backing about 60" X 22" pinned together around the edges. This looks like it will be heaps of fun.

Just a short Show and Tell today.
Margaret has finished her very soft and beautiful quilt made of flower fabrics backed with minkee and crocheted together. She did teach many other people to make a quilt in this method and that is probably why she has been the last to finish.

Anne finally has a quilt made just for herself. Beautiful pansy fabrics in a simple but graphic design. Pansies for thoughts we believe.

Diana has completed yet another of her time consuming fabric strip mats. This one is for her niece's daughter's friend. The poor little girl with the original purple mat is not allowed to let her friends into her bedroom now in case they see her wonderful mat and she tells them her Zea will make them one too!

A very touching little embroidered verse on this pillow case Anne made for her mother. A beautiful delicate and somewhat pastel pattern not really very 'Anne-like' and we hope  her Mum doesn't cry too much when she sees it.

Anne bought so many stunning sarong pieces in Tanzania that husband has demanded she does something with them. So one has gone into making a couple of lovely cushions to match the truck quilt.

The Badge Draw today was won by Diana who is off to Needleworx to spend her $10.
