5 June 2019

Winter has certainly showed itself and this morning saw 28 ladies who had obviously been delving into their stash of warmer clothing - pardon me, 27 ladies as Marlena doesn't feel the cold!

A reminder that our Friendship Morning, incorporating our Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for Cancer, will be held on 17 July.  A reminder to all that we need items for "Show and Tell".  Saturday sewing is on this Saturday 8 June in the Women's Centre, Shakespeare Street.

Liz was the winner of our Badge Draw this morning.

Barbara started this quilt 2 years ago but it was put away to give her a spell from the hand embroidery.  She took it out again around Christmas last year and was shortly after told that a new grandchild was on the way so she now had the incentive to finish it.  Quilting and binding are still to be added but Barbara had to show it today as it will be on its way to Brisbane next week.

Mary made the above quilt which features hand embroidery and applique.  It is "The Gingham Girls" by Red Brolly.  I am sure that you will agree that the blue and white is very striking.
