19 May 2021

There was not a lot of ladies present today at the hall. Apparently it is now too cold to leave the house. We are very fickle in our appreciation of the weather in Mackay. (That wind was chilly though.) Anne was busy finding someone to do the blog and Cathy was busy finding someone to collect money and do the badge draw. It is time to leave Mackay on holidays it seems.

Vivian was the winner of the badge draw as a reward for finally finishing that quilt. (Not really, but she does seem a worthy recipient.)

Lesley and her two sewing friends made 2 blocks each (8 different fabrics each block) for this Disappearing 9-patch I-Spy Quilt for a cent sale prize. The cent sale didn't eventuate so it ended up in Lesley's cupboard unquilted for years. But now it is finished!

Liz has finished another quilt for the Women's Centre. This one is much larger than her usual and very much heavier, so Cheryl helped with applying the binding.

And a couple more table runners from Liz for the Women's Centre. The two Churn Dash blocks make a nice placemat even though someone tried to call them Hashtag blocks!

Vivian is very pleased to have finished this little quilt which was one of the first quilts she started in her quilting journey in 2001. What a lovely little view through the Attic Window panes. It features fussy cutting, her very first attempt at stipple quilting and both embroidered and hand quilted stars in the border.
