26 May 2021

A couple of dozen ladies enjoyed some stitching in glorious weather today. A couple have left on trips but a few have returned, including our president who brought back some bling in the form of softball medals from her other more energetic pastime.

Heather won the Badge Draw today for the second time in one month. I wonder will she be buying more fabric for those heart applique blocks she is doing?

Anne has made this cushion for her daughter-in-law's mother who lives in California. Anne has always wanted to transfer photos to fabric and despite putting lots and lots of fabric and freezer paper through her printer with not so good outcomes, she wasn't going to let it get the better of her and persisted until it worked. The best trouble-shooting tip was to flatten the fabric and freezer paper under a heavy book after ironing the freezer paper on so it wouldn't curl and would feed easily through the printer.

This is the front of Anne's cushion with some lettering printed from a word document to make the A4 page up to a square. Happy 70th to Marion.

Lesley went to a retreat in Toowoomba with Glenrock Stitchers, her old patchwork group from Esk. This bag was a mystery project that Lesley only finished now she is back home. Apparently far too much fun was had at the retreat to worry about completing any project.

And it wouldn't be a Show and Tell if there weren't a few table runners from Liz. All very different, mostly made from scraps of fabric given to her, and very exactly sewn.
